The Department of National Defense says a drug probe at 4th Canadian Division Support Base Petawawa has led to drug charges against a Canadian Forces member and his civilian brother, who lives with him on base.
According to a statement, the charges stem from an "extensive investigation" by the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service's National Drug Enforcement Team. The investigation led to a search of a home on the base on February 3. About 28 grams of suspected cocaine and 20 grams of suspected marijuana were seized. Investigators also found packaging materials, a scale, and other drug paraphernalia.
Corporal Philippe Serge Léveillée, of 2 Combat Engineer Regiment, and his civilian brother David Joseph Léveillée were arrested. Four days later both were charged with two counts each of drug possession and possession for the purposes of trafficking.
The two men will appear in a Pembroke court on March 7.
