A 30-year-old Ottawa man is facing three different child pornography charges, in a police investigation dating to last October.
Police say it was then that they started conducting a proactive investigation on a Peer-to-Peer network, a commonly-used file sharing network for users to share child pornography.
The Ottawa Police Internet Child Exploitation unit identified an Ottawa IP address that was sharing hundreds of files of suspected child porn.
After a search warrant was executed in Carlington on Wednesday, 30-year-old Richard Devarennes is now facing three charges, including: making available, possession of, and accessing child pornography.
He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday, May 10.
