The city is asking people to file reports of icy sidewalks and - in some cases - to grab a shovel themselves.
On Twitter today, officials have been asking for online reports through Service Ottawa if residents come across an unwalkable patch so crews can come around to treat it.
Icy stretch of road? Snow banks too high? Road needs to be plowed? You can make an online service request here https://t.co/1lmrJ2m8ys

There is also a Tweet reminding people of grit boxes.
It says "help us by spreading the salt and sand around."
Icy patches have formed all over Ottawa thanks to freezing rain, snow, melting snow and sudden cold temperatures in succession.
