Ottawa's city council has approved a one-time injection for road resurfacing across the capital.
The City will spend an extra $400,000 on pothole repairs as well as the $2.5 million injection to resurface the roads.
Mayor Jim Watson says an up-and-down winter has left the city's roads a mess.
"We had 70 freeze-thaws cycles which created literally over 150,000 potholes," he says. "So this new money is to go and put more emphasis into getting those potholes fixed before the winter comes and resurfacing a lot more roads than we would have normally done.
Watson admits the city hasn't spent has much money as it should've on fixing the roads. His motion passed unanimously at council Wednesday.
