As many as 15 schools in the Ottawa Carleton District School Board have reported possible sightings of some uninvited guests this season... cockroaches.
The OCDSB has sent out a statement explaining they will have to undertake a complex procedure to manage the pests, including the use of glue boards, gels and insecticide dust in areas that students would not access.
The Board says families of Manor Park school received a letter because a more intensive spray treatment will be used there.
They stress that cockroaches are not a sign of poor housekeeping but can be brought into a building in the form of egg cases laid in groceries, rugs or even used appliances.
