Ottawa Paramedics say a 73-year-old man who went into cardiac arrest aboard an OC Transpo bus Thursday morning was saved by a doctor who happened to be on board the same bus.
The 104 was pulling into Hurdman station just before 11:00 a.m. when the man collapsed.
Doctor Nadya Ben Fadel - a neonatologist for CHEO and the Ottawa Hospital - saw what happened and alerted the driver.
A supervisor named Derek Fuller took an AED and the man was shocked once. Paramedics used the paddles three more times along with drugs to restart the senior's heart.
He was taken to hospital in serious condition.
