Ottawa Fire officials say the cause of a dumpster fire, which sent residents of a high rise out into Tuesday's winter storm, is under investigation.
Firefighters were called to 2400 Virginia Drive, near Featherstone Park, at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday.
The building's alarm company first alerted firefighters. 911 calls later reported smoke rising through the building.
Firefighters were able to locate the dumpster, bring it outside, and douse the flames quickly after arriving on scene, having the fire under control by 9:22.
Residents were kept warm and dry on OC Transpo buses as fire crews worked to ventilate the building.
There are no reports of injuries.
