Ottawa Police say they're assisting Ottawa Fire crews battling a blaze at 262 Preston St.
Firefighers say they responded to the call around 3:30 a.m. Saturday for a fire in an apartment next to the Green Papaya restaurant in Little Italy.
All of the occupants were evacuated safely.
All neighbouring buildings were evacuated as a precaution as well.
One person was assessed for smoke inhalation.
Preston St. is closed from Highway 417 to Balsam St, and Gladstone Ave. is closed from Loretta Ave. to Rochester St.
Firefighters are still on the scene at this time, and an investigator is responding.
