Elgin Street is a step closer to a complete redesign.
A proposal to cut out traffic lanes and parking spots to make conditions more appealing for pedestrians was pushed forward by the transportation committee today.
That means it's a council vote from going ahead.
The plan would cut Elgin to two lanes of traffic and lower the speed limit to 30.
If it's approved, construction would likely begin in 2019 and last a year.
