The first glimpse of weather is on its way.
Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning Sunday morning, with amounts between 15 and 25 centimetres possible by the end of the day Monday.
Meteorologist Ryan Rozinskis says the snowfall won't be the only weather factor.
"We're also looking at winds to pick up with gusts to 70 later this afternoon into the overnight and into tomorrow. That'll basically pick up the snow and there will be lots of blowing snow."
Heavy snowfall will pick up by Saturday afternoon, lasting right through to Monday morning.
Rozinskis says people should expect a slow commute on Monday as they head into work.
"All that snow should amount to about 15 to 20 centimetres on the ground by Monday morning's commute. So the commute could certainly be affected, even though Monday itself we're only expecting about 2 to 4 centimetres of snow. There still could be a fair bit on the ground until the crews get a chance to go out and clean all that up."
