Ottawa Fire crews spent more than eight hours battling a blaze in the Dunrobin area on Friday morning.
The call came in around 4 a.m. when the homeowners noticed smoke coming from the furnace.
Everyone made it out of the home on Hedley Way safely.
While battling the 2-alarm blaze, paramedics said a firefighter suffered minor shoulder injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The home had to be demolished due to the blaze.
The family of four, including twin nine year old boys, lost everything in the fire.
Ottawa Police have set up a donation bin at the Huntmar police station.
