Former Ottawa Senator Martin Havlat has announced his retirement.
The 35-year-old forward played 790 games and had a knack for scoring big goals over the course of his career: 44 in the regular season and 7 in the playoffs.
He had been out of action for more than a year.
In a post on the NHLPA website, Havlat says he didn't think he was in good enough physical condition to attempt a comeback.
