Four people are displaced after a two-alarm fire on Shakespeare St. in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Ottawa firefighters say they received multiple 911 calls for flames coming from a two-storey home in the 200-block of Shakespeare St. in Vanier, at 12:45 a.m.
The fire spread to much of the three-unit building, including the second floor and attic.
After about half an hour, the second-alarm call was put in, and more fire crews and trucks arrived to provide back-up assistance.
A 25-year old man and a 24-year-old woman were home at the time of the fire, and they're now being assisted by Victims Services. Two other people are displaced as well, but they were not home at the time.
There were no injuries reported.
Damages are estimated at $300,000 for the building, and $100,000 for its contents.
A fire investigator is on the scene. The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined.
