A Gatineau man has been banned from owning animals for the rest of his life.
Alain Marchand, from the Kazabazua area, has had at least four dogs seized by the local SPCA over the last decade.
The organization reports that the animals lived in unhealthy conditions, were malnourished, and some suffered from serious injuries.
Judge Christine Auger found him guilty of three counts filed by the SPCA, and banned Marchand from owning animals for life.
Criminal charges are still outstanding against him.
It's the first life-time ban ordered in Quebec.
