Gatineau Fire says crews stopped an explosion and corresponding fire from spreading to other apartments Monday night.
Calls came in around 8:30 p.m. at 23 Soeur Jeanne Marie Chavoin reporting a "violent explosion," according to Gatineau Fire
Most of the building’s 400 residents had already gotten out safely by the time firefighters arrived.
The blaze was quickly put out but not before leaving behind $86,000 in damages.
One person has been displaced.
No one was hurt.
