Five people are displaced due to a residence fire in Gatineau late Saturday.
Firefighters were called to the blaze in a semi-detached home at 489 Davidson St. East just before 8:00 p.m.
They say quick action helped them limit the fire to the basement and part of the back wall of the residence, but it did take more than an hour for crews to get the blaze under control.
One person home at the time needed to be evacuated and treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
The blaze caused roughly $77,000 dollars in damage.
