A 30-year-old Gatineau man is facing eight counts of armed robbery following a multi-jurisdictional police investigation.
OPP say a string of bank robberies took place between August 25 and December 16. Banks were robbed in Kingston, York, Napanee, Oshawa, Trenton, Toronto, Bowmanville and Cobourg. Police came to believe these robberies were all linked.
The investigation included officers from the OPP, Durham Regional Police, Toronto Police, York Regional Police, Kingston Police and Cobourg Police Services.
The suspect was arrested on the 401, west of Trenton, on Friday, after police were informed about a robbery in Cobourg.
Tristan Marois Drouin appeared in a Belleville Court on Monday.
