A 30-year-old Gatineau woman has died after a crash near Saint. Lazare Saturday, according to Surete du Quebec police.
Surete du Quebec spokesperson Sgt. Ronald McInnis says the woman, a male passenger, and the driver were headed to Montreal after the driver had posted an ad looking for people to split the cost of the trip from Gatineau.
McInnis says the male passenger had been texting his girlfriend saying the driver was driving erratically and he thought there'd be an accident.
At around 1:45 p.m. Saturday driver lost control of the vehicle, McInnis says, went over the center median and into westbound traffic when they hit two vehicles in a row.
The woman died at the scene while the other passenger and the driver were hospitalized with serious injuries.
Police says the driver may be charged with dangerous driving causing death pending an investigation.
