Greyhound Canada says it's ending its passenger bus and freight services in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
The transport company is also cancelling all but one route in B.C.
Greyhound Canada senior vice-president Stuart Kendrick says the routes in rural parts of Canada "are just not sustainable anymore."
The company estimates 415 people will be let go and two million customers will be impacted.
The changes are set to take effect on October 31 and will leave Ontario and Quebec as the only regions in which the famous running-dog logo will serve.
