One of Ottawa's most well-known residents is in our country to stay if he so chooses.
Retired REDBLACKS quarterback, reigning Grey Cup MVP and current CTV Morning Live co-host Henry Burris revealed at the Ottawa Tourism Awards Thursday night that he's been granted permanent residency.
The team sent out a tweet saying Burris had been granted citizenship, but that is not quite accurate.
This would be considered a big step towards that.
Burris has had difficulty getting Citizenship documents despite playing in the CFL - give or take a couple of seasons - since 1997.
All that time it was considered part-time work by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, since it wasn't year-round.
