Ontario Provincial Police in Kemptville say they want to identify a teen boy who allegedly attempted to rob a 9-year-old girl at an area catholic school.
Police say on October 3, 2018, the 9-year-old was out on afternoon recess, in a tree-lined area of the school yard of Ste. Marguerite Bourgeoys Catholic School on Campus Dr., when she was allegedly grabbed from behind by a masked male holding a rock. He demanded money but, when the girl said she didn’t have any, he let her go.
The girl was not physically hurt.
OPP are now looking for a teen boy, believed to be about 16, who is roughly 5’5” tall (165 cm) with shoulder-length braided hair. He is believed to be black.
Police say he was wearing a dark blue zip-up hoodie, dark blue jeans, black Nike shoes with black laces and was carrying a black backpack.
The OPP continue to investigate this incident and request that any persons who may have had encounters with, or seen a male matching this description, to please contact Constable Denys Baranovskiy, of the Kemptville OPP at 613-258-3441.
