Loblaws stores across Ottawa and elsewhere are experiencing a debit outage.
The company says in a statement there is an "issue" with their network system.
"At this point, our customers are unable to use debit to pay for groceries, however in most cases we can still accept credit (limit varies by store) or cash. We're expecting the issue to be resolved shortly and we apologize for any inconvenience."
The issue has been affecting customers at Loblaws, Your Independent Grocer, and Real Canadian Superstores.
The company was responding to customers on Twitter.
@FreshieGeek We apologize for the inconvenience. Our team is still working to have this fixed and we kindly ask your patience at this time.
