Ottawa Fire was on scene in Clarence Creek this afternoon, helping to rescue a man who was stuck up to his waist in a trench.
Clarence Rockland Fire Chief Pierre Sabourin says the farmer was digging a trench at the property on Pilon Road when the ground gave way and fell in around him.
The victim was conscious and complaining about pain in his legs.
Ottawa Paramedics say they were called by Ornge Air ambulance around 3:15pm to pick up and deliver blood to the scene.
Firefighters managed to rescue the man from the trench and he was airlifted to hospital in critical condition, with injuries to his legs.
