The owner of the Ottawa Senators is taking issue with anyone blaming him for not every playoff game being a sell-out.
In response to a column published on Tuesday, Eugene Melnyk wrote a letter to the Ottawa Citizen saying it's unfair to blame any single person, especially him.
He insists his singular focus has been bringing a Stanley Cup to Ottawa.
The column in question written by Don Brennan suggests a lot of the issues brought up about why the building hasn't sold out every game ultimately end up at Melnyk's door.
The opinion piece mentions ticket prices, parking costs and how the push for a downtown arena has highlighted issues about the location of Canadian Tire Centre.
Appearing on TSN 1200 Wednesday, Ottawa Senators President Tom Anselmi said management is ultimately responsible for not filling the rink, not the fans.
He pointed out the team has consistently drawn more than 18,000 people to every game, saying there hasn't been a night yet that hasn't been a great experience.
