The Ministry of Labour has been spending more time in Ottawa Light Rail Transit tunnel.
The Ministry confirmed to CTV that 47 orders to improve conditions were issued in a one week period and that inspectors visited the site 14 times last week alone.
The Rideau Transit Group has been ordered to make changes that include rules on vehicles reversing in the tunnel, inadequate lighting and damaged or missing fire lines and equipment.
No stop work orders have been issued.
The Ottawa and District Labour Council said that the number of orders is an Ottawa record.
