Ontario Provincial Police say they have finally found the body of a young man who went missing while swimming in the Ottawa River last week.
They have also identified the man as 20-year-old Samuel Patrick Eli Christansen of Petawawa.
Christansen went missing on Friday, June 22 after getting caught in a section of rapids next to Grants Settlement Rd. in the Whitewater Region of the Ottawa Valley.
He was found in the Ottawa River in the same area on June 27, 2018.
OPP say an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of his death.
Police say the search effort included OPP officers, the OPP Aviation Unit, the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) and the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
