The snow sculptures of Mosaïvernales in Gatineau's Jacques-Cartier Park could not stand up to Mother Nature, according to a statement from the group behind the majestic event.
"Due to Mother Nature, Mosaïvernales has temporarily closed the exhibit to allow the team of sculptors from Harbin to rework the snow sculptures damaged over the weekend," the statement from Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal (MIM) says.
The group says anyone who may have had tickets for this past weekend will be allowed to access the event again for free once it reopens.
MIM has promised an update by Thursday.
