Amazon has been delivering unsolicited boxes of random goods to university student associations across Canada for the last several weeks.
The boxes were full of products, including, but not limited to, headphones, phone chargers, watch straps, alarm clocks, yoga mats, pocket flashlights, essential oil diffusers, sex toys, dog tags and toys, and in most, a red cape.
Amazon and the RCMP are investigating the packages.
All of them appear to have been sent from China. RCMP in northern Ontario say they suspect the packages are a marketing ploy by Chinese companies to target young consumers.
Schools as close as Carleton University have been receiving the packages. Representatives from Carleton say the school has received between 20 and 40 of these boxes in total.
Concordia University says they have been receiving three or four of these boxes every single day since November.
