Parents received a letter Thursday, after a suspicious person was reportedly spotted near Mary Honeywell School in Barrhaven.
A letter obtained by CFRA, which was sent by the principal of St. Emily Catholic School on Chapman Mills Drive, says a man dressed in black overalls and a reflective vest had approached some children at the public school on Kennevale Drive Thursday morning.
The note says police were called and have stepped up patrols in the area.
The letter urges parents to use this as an opportunity to talk to kids about what to do if they're approached by strangers.
