The Ottawa Humane Society says it is considering options for its next steps after a judge reinstated its OSPCA affiliate status.
Despite the Monday ruling, the group's ability to conduct animal cruelty investigations remains on hold due to dispute over OSPCA board members holding voting power on animal welfare decisions.
In a written statement, OHS Executive Director Bruce Roney says he would have liked to have seen all issues resolved at once.
But he calls the reinstatement a step in the right direction.
The local humane society's affiliate status was removed in July, stripping its officers of their investigative powers.
The OSPCA is currently handling animal welfare and cruelty cases locally using its own people.
