As thick, wet snow fell across the capita region, there were a number of collisions Sunday.
In Gatineau, Quebec Provincial Police say a man in his 40s is dead after a two-vehicle crash on the Highway 50 in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge.
Police say one of the drivers lost control of a vehicle around 10:30 a.m. near Kilmar Road.
Road closures remain in effect as police investigate.
Ottawa Paramedics say a woman in her 20s suffered a spinal injury after a five-vehicle crash on the Highway 174 at Cameron Street in Cumberland around 11:30 a.m.
Paramedic photos show a car in a ditch, another with its hood tarnished, and the front of a totaled van.
Elsewhere, a 60-year-old man suffered chest and back injuries after a collision in the south end, according to paramedics.
The man's SUV collided with the back of a transport truck at the Highway 416 and West Hunt Club Road.
Firefighters had to assist with extricating him from the vehicle. He was taken to hospital in stable condition.
