Ottawa Public Health is reminding parents to double check that their children are immunized against the measles.
Last weekend, the agency announced there were three cases of the virus in the Ottawa and Carleton Place area.
"Currently in our schools, what we're looking at is making sure that if people do not have that protection of the immunization that is complete, that they are going to update that immunization status and in particular cases where there are people we know have been exposed to a case of measles and they're susceptible, those people are being asked to stay home," said Dr. Vera Etches, the city's Deputy Medical Officer of Health.
People who believe they may have been in contact with the virus at the listed times to call Ottawa Public Health at 613-580-6744 or the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit at 613-345-5685.
