The Ontario Provincial Police are asking for help identifying a man whose remains were found along the shores of the Ottawa River earlier this week.
Police say the body was found on Tuesday, off of Division Road in Wendover, about 50 km east of the Capital.
An autopsy was conducted at the Ottawa Hospital on Wednesday; it determined the remains belonged to a man in his forties.
He was about six feet tall, with a shaved head and some stubbly facial hair.
When the body was found, it was wearing:
- Size 11, black "Airwalk" running shoes, with a distinctive fluorescent yellow/green sole and tongue
- Olive coloured jacket with zipper up the front, a quilted liner and velcro wrist cuffs
- A dark long sleeved shirt with a knitted greyish/blue coloured sweater over top
- Black nylon track pants with a two tone grey strip on the side of the leg
- White or grey long underwear and maroon coloured thick wool socks
Police say they have so far been unable to determine just who this man was, and so they're seeking public assistance.
