The President of the Ottawa Champions Baseball Club has resigned.
David Gourlay issued a statement on Friday morning that he would be pursuing other community initiative.
He revealed that it was six years to the day that he started a community movement to get baseball back in the capital.
During his time as President of the Ottawa Champions, Gourley also helped to create the Miracle League of Ottawa which saw Canada's second fully accessible baseball diamond built in Orleans.
Gourley thanked the fans, owner Miles Wolff, Mayor Jim Watson, former Mayor Jim Durrell and Councillor Bob Monette.
