Ottawa Fire responded to an evening 9-1-1 call reporting smoke coming from the sixth floor of a building on Maritime Way.
Firefighters arrived at the building to investigate the sixth floor where they found a fire in one of the apartments.
Fire crews quickly got the fire under control just past 5:30p.m.
No one was in the building at the time of the fire and there are no injuries being reported.
A fire investigator will not be needed for the case.
