Ottawa Firefighters say a blaze in a row house unit in the Albert and Booth area is under control.
The fire broke out around 4:00 p.m. Friday. Fighting it necessitated road closures and warnings to stay away from a high-traffic area for commuters and buses.

While battling the blaze, firefighters reported having to rescue people trapped in the building.

Firefighters later confirmed that no one needed to be rescued and everyone was able to get out of the building safely.
Ottawa Fire Public Information Officer Danielle Cardinal says there have been no reports of injuries. A fire investigator is en route to determine the cause of the blaze.
The fire was upgraded to a 2nd alarm before being declared under control by 4:19 p.m.
