The family of an Ottawa kindergarten teacher, who had been in a medically induced coma since Canada Day, say she is recovering well after a recent surgery.
Casey Delaney was placed into the coma after suffering significant injuries when she was hit by a personal watercraft while floating on an inflatable island with friends on the Gatineau River south of Maniwaki.
In an emailed statement to CTV News, Delaney’s sister Kristin says, “Casey’s surgery was a success and she is recovering well. She is exhausted and needs rest but this surgery was a huge step forward and we can’t wait to see Casey continue to amaze us with her recovery.”
43-year-old Robin Golby, of Orléans, is facing charges of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, hit and run causing bodily harm, and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
