An Ottawa man, who is facing charges in connection with vandalism at the Ottawa Mosque and the Islam Care Centre, has been arrested again.
Ottawa Police say they were called to an establishment on Bank Street, near Somerset, around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, on reports that a man was heard making threats to customers and staff.
When officers confronted the man, police say he became combative. They tried to arrest him, but he broke free and fled a short distance.
Police say the man was arrested further down the street, after having caused mischief to an Islamic Centre.
27-year-old Shawn Le Guerrier faces eight new charges: resisting a peace officer, assault with intent to resist arrest, causing a disturbance, criminal harassment, two counts of mischief, and two counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.
Le Guerrier was already facing two counts of mischief and one count of assaulting police from a previous arrest two weeks ago, when windows were smashed at the mosque on Northwestern Avenue and the Islam Care Centre on Somerset Street West.
