The Ottawa Mission's dining room was full on Easter Monday, as it served the city's homeless and needy at an Easter dinner.
The menu included roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, steamed peas, baby glazed carrots, and pies for dessert.
Shirley Roy, the mission's manager of media and community relations, said the mood is uplifting.
"It's a chance to put on a very special day and a delicious dinner for people in the community who might not have a special Easter dinner if we didn't do this," Roy said.
"We always feel pretty good about that."
One of those at the dinner was Jacques Bolduc, who said he was at the Easter dinner because he was starving.
"I got no food at home, so it's really tough." Bolduc said.
The mission was planning to feed up to 28-hundred people before the end of the event, prepared and served by more than 120 volunteers.
