A commercial vehicle blitz by Ottawa Police has resulted in a number of vehicles being taken off the roads due to safety concerns.
Last Wednesday and Thursday, police along with the Ministry of Transportation and Environment inspected 73 commercial vehicles that came through the city.
From the 73 vehicles inspected, 63 charges were laid, and 18 vehicles were placed out of service.
The charges include:
* No annual inspection
* Improper Cargo secured
* No Daily Inspection
* Improper Class of Driver's license
* Overweight vehicles
* Seat belts
* Use of Cell Phones
* Improper Brakes
* Improper Tires
