Ottawa Police say they’re looking for a black, four-door Acura sedan they say was involved in a hit-and-run with a traffic cop.
The officer had tried to pull the car over at the corner of Heron Rd. and Prince of Wales Dr. at around 8:55 a.m. Friday but the driver–a lone man–did not stop.
The officer was hit, but is expected to be okay, and was hospitalized as a precaution, police say.
Police could not give an exact model for the midsize car, but say it’s likely a TL or TSX of an unknown year.
Police say the car's passenger-side mirror may be damaged.
If you see a car matching that description, you’re asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
The photos above are given as examples of the kind of car police are looking for and are not actual photos of the car in question.
CORRECTION NOTE: Ottawa Police originally said the car had a smashed-out passenger-side window. They later said the window was not smashed, but the passenger-side mirror may be damaged.
