UPDATE: Ottawa Police are working to identify a woman's body that was found in the Ottawa River Sunday evening.
Police were called to an area of Lady Grey Drive, near the Royal Canadian Mint, after someone fishing in the area found the body around 7:15 p.m.
Inspector John Medeiros tells CTV Ottawa it's not yet known how the person ended up in the water, but at this point in time foul play is not suspected. Investigators will be checking missing persons reports as they attempt to identify the body. Medeiros says the woman's age is currently unknown.
An autopsy will be performed Monday.
Police are currently not appealing for witnesses.
