An Ottawa roofing company has been fined $80,000 by the province after a fire back on July 5, 2017.
Ottawa Permanent Roofing is facing the fine after a fire broke out during a roofing project at a home in Ottawa.
A release by the province says adhesive glue used in the installation of a balcony caught fire while three workers were on the balcony. Two of the workers caught fire, with one suffering serious burns to their arms, legs, and torso.
The province says there was no fire extinguisher present, no means for the workers to get off the balcony, and that there were no written emergency procedures made for the project.
