Ottawa's Chief of Police is raising questions about the fast approaching date for cannabis legalization in Canada.
Charles Bordeleau says he's worried about drug-impaired driving because OPS is "lagging behind" in terms of training for officers.
He says the screening devices have yet to be approved by the federal government and it will take at least another 4-6 months in order for his officers to be ready.
Bordeleau also voiced concern for how police are going to be instructed to enforce the distribution laws for pot.
He says using either the LCBO or corner stores are two scenarios that need completely different preparation.
