A 54-year-old Ottawa woman is facing over $800 in fines, nine demerit points, and a 7-day license suspension, after Gatineau Police stopped a car speeding in a school zone.
Police say it happened around 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, on Alexandre Taché Boulevard near St. Jean de Brébeuf School.
The vehicle, described by police as a Honda Civic with Ontario plates, was recorded going 72 kilometers per hour in a 30-zone.
Police also say the car crossed the double yellow line down the middle of the road at one point.
Gatineau Police issued a fine of $311 and 3 demerit points in connection with crossing a no-passing line. A fine of $532 and 6 demerit points was issued in connection with speeding.
Police say the vehicle was towed, but not seized.
