Ottawa firefighters were called to Nepean this afternoon for a house fire.
The call came in around 4:15pm for a home at 21 Commanche Drive.
The fire had engulfed two sides of the home and took firefighters close to 45 minutes to put out.
Damage is estimated at $550,000.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
Five residents are now displaced.
No one was hurt during the fire, but the family's pet cat has died.
