The Ottawa Police Service Drug Unit has sent out a warning after it's been confirmed for the first time that a street drug seized by police in the city also contained Fentanyl.
The sample comes from cocaine seized by officers in July.
Police say this is a reminder no amount of supervision can ensure someone's safety when they choose to use illegal drugs.
The presense of an opoid like Fentanyl increases the risk of overdose.
