Ottawa Police arrested a man after he was seen allegedly trying to break into mailboxes.
Police say they were called to Ivylea Street around 1:00am this morning where neighbours saw a suspicious man near a community mailbox.
When approached by a community member, the man pulled out a gun and threatened the person, but then ran away.
A short while later around 3:30am, he was again seen allegedly trying to pry open a community mailbox.
Police arrived and after a short foot chase arrested the man.
Police say 19-year-old Cory Dias of Ottawa is now facing the following charges:
* Use Imitation Firearm Commission of Offence
* Possession Weapon Dangerous
* Mischief Under $5000
* Theft of Mail
* Attempt Theft of Mail
* Possession of Break-in Tools
Dias was scheduled to appear in court today.
