Ottawa Police are asking for the public's help identifying a man wanted in connection with a robbery at a Nepean ATM.
Police say a woman was using the ATM near Merivale and Baseline around 7:20 p.m. on July 16th, when a man entered and approached the adjacent ATM.
As the woman finished her withdrawal, the man tried to steal her cash.
Police say the suspect was scared off by a bank employee.
Investigators believe a similar incident took place the night before at the same location. Police say in that case a woman noticed a suspicious man handing around as she used the ATM. She told police she saw the man follow another man out of the bank and he tried to grab his money. The victim locked himself in his car and the suspect fled. Police say the victim did not call them and they would like to speak with him.
The suspect is described as white, between 25 and 30 years old, between 5'8" and 5'10", with a slim build and dirty blonde, shaggy hair that was sticking out from beneath a baseball cap.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Robbery Unit.
