Ottawa Police are asking for the public to help them identify a female suspect in the case of several thefts at a centrally-located mall.
Police did not name the specific mall, but say the thefts were committed in January of this year.
The woman is alleged to have taken shopping bags, purses, or backpacks while their owner was distracted or had left their belongings unattended for a few minutes.
Credit cards in those bags were then used to make fraudulent purchases.
The woman is described as being in her mid-thirties to mid-forties with a medium build and shoulder-length dark brown hair.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Central Criminal Investigation Unit at 613-236-1222 ext 5166.
